Bihar elections likely to be announced next week
The Election Commission of India is likely to announce the schedule of assembly elections in Bihar next week. The final voter list for the Bihar elections will be published on September 30, after which Election Commission officials will visit Patna on October 4 and 5 to review the election preparations.
According to information, the first phase of the elections is expected to be held in late October, immediately after Chhath. The previous assembly elections in Bihar were held in three phases due to the Corona pandemic.

Sukhbir Badal reaches Nabha jail to meet Bikram Singh Majithia
On the third day after the visit of the Dera Beas chief, Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal also reached Nabha jail to meet Bikram Singh Majithia. Harsimrat Badal and Ganiv Kaur Majithia were also present with him.

Punjab Cabinet gives green signal to prosecute corruption case against Dharamsot
The Cabinet meeting chaired by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has approved the prosecution of a corruption case against former Punjab Cabinet Minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot. This case was registered by the Vigilance Bureau in June 2022.
The Punjab Cabinet today recommended to the Governor for approval to prosecute further action in this matter.
Apart from this, the Cabinet has decided to set up a special court in Mohali to dispose of cases in various courts where NIA is running in Punjab. Where NIA cases will be disposed of by the Sessions Judge and Additional Sessions Judge.

Dera Beas chief visits Bikram Majithia in Nabha jail
Dera Beas chief Baba Gurinder Singh Dhillon reached Nabha jail today, where he met Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia. The Akali leader (Bikram Majithia) has been kept in judicial custody in the jail by the Punjab government in a case of exceeding income.The two held a closed-door meeting that lasted 35 minutes, jail officials said. AAP MLA from Khadoor Sahib Manjinder Singh Lalpura convicted in 12-year-old case
In Punjab, 12 people, including Aam Aadmi Party MLA from Khadoor Sahib Manjinder Singh Lalpura, have been convicted in a case of beating and molesting a woman 12 years ago.
The district court of Tarn Taran, while hearing the case on Wednesday, said that the convicts will be sentenced on September 12. The police have arrested 7 people, including the MLA, who have been sent to Goindwal Sahib jail by the court. PM Modi announces financial assistance of Rs 1600 crore for flood-hit areas of Punjab
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced financial assistance of Rs 1600 crore for flood-hit areas of Punjab. He said that the next of kin of the deceased will be given Rs 2 lakh each and the injured Rs 50,000 each.
