After losing the Ludhiana West by-election in Punjab to AAP's Sanjeev Arora, Bharat Bhushan Ashu resigned from the post of acting president of the Punjab Congress Working Committee.

Meanwhile, Aam Aadmi Party supremo Arvind Kejriwal said that he is not going to the Rajya Sabha in place of Sanjeev Arora. He said that the decision on who will go to the Rajya Sabha will be taken by the AAP's political affairs committee.

It is noteworthy that AAP's Arora got 35,179 votes and Congress candidate Bharat Bhushan Ashu came second with 24,542 votes.
