Ludhiana by-election: Aam Aadmi Party wins

The Aam Aadmi Party has won the by-election held on the Ludhiana West assembly seat in Punjab. The party's candidate Sanjeev Arora defeated Congress' Bharat Bhushan Ashu by a margin of 10,637 votes.

BJP's Jeevan Gupta and Shiromani Akali Dal's Parupkar Singh Ghuman stood at third and fourth positions respectively. At the same time, AAP candidate Italia Gopal also won the by-election on the Visavadar seat in Gujarat.

The Election Commission had conducted by-elections for 5 assembly seats in 4 states, in which the Aam Aadmi Party won two seats, while the BJP, the Congress and the Trinamool Congress won one seat.
