Mission RCMP seek public help after masked man knocks on Phelps Avenue home

BY Connect Newsroom - Ramandeep Kaur, Jan 26, 2026 5:45 PM - REPORT AN ERROR

Mission RCMP have released images of a grey Toyota Rav4 believed to be connected to a suspicious incident on Phelps Avenue.

Mission RCMP are asking for the public’s assistance following a suspicious incident outside a family residence in Mission earlier this month. Police say the incident occurred around noon on January 20 on Phelps Avenue and involved a vehicle and several unidentified individuals.

According to investigators, a grey Toyota Rav4 carrying four people pulled up outside the home. A man wearing a balaclava exited the rear passenger door, ran up to the house, and forcefully knocked on the door with both hands before running back to the vehicle. The Rav4 then sped away from the area.

Police say it is still unclear whether the act was intended to intimidate the occupants of the home or whether it was a reckless prank with no specific target. Officers are now releasing details and images related to the incident in hopes that witnesses will come forward or that those involved will contact police to clarify the motive and take responsibility.

The suspect is described as a white male wearing a camouflage long-sleeved shirt, black pants, and dark green Crocs. The vehicle involved is believed to be a grey Toyota Rav4 from model years 2006 to 2012.

Mission RCMP say incidents like this can cause significant fear and anxiety for residents and are urging anyone with information, including dashcam or home surveillance footage from the area, to contact police.
