Premier David Eby and Prime Minister Mark Carney marked Christmas by offering holiday greetings to Canadians, reflecting on the economic pressures and uncertainties many families have faced over the past year while emphasizing the importance of solidarity and generosity. Both leaders highlighted the resilience shown by communities across the country during challenging times.

In his recorded Christmas message, Prime Minister Mark Carney said the holiday season serves as a reminder of hope and renewal. He noted that light follows darkness and stressed that Canada is strongest when people look out for one another and stand together. Carney said mutual care and unity remain central to the country’s ability to overcome difficulties.

British Columbia Premier David Eby described Christmas as a time of joy, humility, and reflection. He said the day, observed in remembrance of the birth of Jesus Christ, reinforces values such as peace, compassion, and service to others, values he said continue to guide communities across the province.

Eby acknowledged that the past year has been marked by uncertainty and ongoing challenges but said British Columbians have once again shown a willingness to support one another in difficult moments. He added that community spirit and kindness remain key strengths as the province moves forward.

Both leaders concluded their messages by wishing Canadians a safe, peaceful, and happy holiday season, while encouraging continued cooperation and care for one another in the year ahead.
