Prince George RCMP say frontline officers carried out multiple enforcement actions over the weekend aimed at disrupting suspected drug trafficking and removing weapons from the community.

Police began the operations on December 12, executing two Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrants at residences on the 200 block of McIntyre Crescent. Officers seized ammunition, suspected drug trafficking equipment, several weapons and a small quantity of suspected methamphetamine. No arrests were made, and the investigation remains ongoing.

Later the same day, officers searched a residence on the 1300 block of Pearson Avenue as part of a stolen property investigation. Inside the home, police located a firearm, suspected illicit drugs and two stolen motorcycles. No arrests were made in that case.

On December 13, officers responded to a report of two people asleep in a vehicle on Third Avenue. Police seized various weapons, a replica firearm, illicit cigarettes, more than $1,000 in cash, drug trafficking paraphernalia and nearly 10 grams of suspected fentanyl, cocaine and methamphetamine. The driver was issued a 24-hour driving prohibition, while both individuals were released pending laboratory analysis and charge approval by the B.C. Prosecution Service.

The weekend concluded with a traffic stop on Highway 97 North near Fifth Avenue on December 14. Police say the driver was found in possession of body armour and was arrested before being released at the scene with a future court date. The vehicle was returned to the rental car company.

Prince George RCMP say removing illicit drugs, weapons and contraband from circulation remains a priority, particularly when such items are believed to be linked to trafficking activity that puts vulnerable community members at risk.
