14 Cases of HMPV Reported in India So Far
A total of 14 cases of HMPV have been reported in India, with one case each reported in Rajasthan and Gujarat on Friday. The states have increased their vigilance due to the rise in HMPV cases.
In Punjab, elderly individuals and children have been advised to wear masks. Meanwhile, isolation wards are being set up in hospitals in Gujarat. In Haryana, the health department has been instructed to monitor HMPV cases closely.
Patients infected with this virus show symptoms similar to the common cold and COVID-19, with children under the age of two being more affected.

SAD working committee accepts Sukhbir Badal’s resignation as party chief
Finally bowing before the Akal Takht, the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) working committee on Friday accepted the resignation of Sukhbir Singh Badal as the party president.
The development comes two days after the Akal Takht Jathedar took a tough stance on the issue in a meeting with the SAD leaders, who had not implemented his directions on re-organisation of the party.

A Mahapanchayat of the Sanyukt Kisan Morcha was held in Moga, Punjab today. The Delhi Assembly elections have been announced. Voting will take place on February 5 for the 70 assembly seats, with results to be declared on February 8. Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar shared this information on Tuesday.

HMPV Increases Concern in India, More Cases Reported
There have been 8 reported cases of HMPV, a virus similar to the coronavirus, in India. On Tuesday, two cases were reported in Nagpur, Maharashtra, where a 13-year-old girl and a 7-year-old boy were found to be infected.
Both children had persistent cold and fever. When tested at a private lab, both tested positive for HMPV.
However, neither required hospitalization. After receiving treatment, their condition is now under control.
