Coach Dosanjh expresses happiness on Canada's medal haul at World championship, praises Jasneet Nijjar's performance

Canada has achieved another success at the World Athletics Championships. Canadian sprinters won the silver medal in the men's 4x100-meter relay.

In the event final, Aaron Brown, Jerome Blake, Brandon Rodney and Andre de Grasse performed brilliantly, winning the silver medal in the event with their season's best timing of 37.55 seconds.

In the same event, the American team won the gold medal with a timing of 37.29 seconds and the Netherlands team won the bronze medal with a timing of 37.81 seconds.

Meanwhile, Marco Arop won the bronze medal for Canada in the men's 800-meter event over the weekend.

With this, Canada's total medal tally at the World Athletics Championships has reached 5, including 3 gold, one silver and one bronze medal.

Athletics Canada shared the following post on X:

Renowned athletics coach (founding member of Universal Athletics club) and Delta City Councillor Jessie Dosanjh praised BC's contribution in Canada’s medal haul at the world championship.

In a telephonic interview with Connect FM, Jessie Dosanjh said, “sometimes the talent of local athletes does not get recognized as the focus shifts towards the medal winners.” Dosanjh said, “Jasneet Nijjar, who represented Canada in the 4x400 meter mixed relay, gave good timings and the community is proud of her.” He added, “this is good for Jasneet and she should use the valuable experience to be better prepared for 2028 Olympics.”

Although the Canadian team could not make it to the finals in 4x400m mixed relay event, Jessie Dosanjh expressed happiness over Jasneet Nijjar's performance.

Two arrested after cocaine seizure in Langford drug trafficking investigation

Two Langford residents were arrested after police seized more than 350 grams of suspected cocaine, cash and silver during a drug trafficking investigation in the West Shore area.
