6.2-magnitude earthquake hits Istanbul, Turkey

Turkey's Emergency Management Agency said that there have been no reports of any damage or injuries so far after the earthquake.
A major earthquake of magnitude 6.2 struck Istanbul, Turkey today. Its epicenter was in the Sea of Marmara near Istanbul. Turkey's Emergency Management Agency said that there have been no reports of any damage or injuries so far after the earthquake.
According to reports, three earthquakes hit Turkey in an hour, the first earthquake was of magnitude 3.9, the second was of magnitude 6.2 and the third was of magnitude 4.4. Meanwhile, officials warned people not to go into buildings damaged by the earthquake.
It is noteworthy that two years ago, 60 thousand people were killed in the earthquake that struck Turkey and Syria, while more than 75 thousand people were injured. During that time, more than 53 thousand people lost their lives in Turkey alone. In fact, Turkey is located on large tectonic plates, due to which the risk of earthquakes remains here.
