Imran Khan’s Sister Reports Meeting at Adiala Jail as Rumours Over Former PM’s Health Intensify

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder and former prime minister Imran Khan received a rare family visit at Adiala Jail today, following weeks of speculation over his condition. His sister Uzma Khanum met him for about 30 minutes and later said he appeared physically stable, while alleging that he has been subjected to psychological pressure during custody.

The visit came after supporters of the party continued to voice concern about Khan’s isolation and lack of access to family. Uzma said the former prime minister has been kept confined to his cell for most of the day with limited communication, a situation that has fuelled anxieties among PTI members inside Pakistan and abroad.

Authorities in Rawalpindi and Islamabad recently imposed Section 144, restricting large public gatherings in response to PTI protests calling for clarity on Khan’s treatment in jail. The measures were introduced after unverified posts circulated on Afghan social media accounts earlier this week claiming Khan had been killed in custody, a rumour officials have dismissed.

Khan has been in detention since earlier court rulings and faces several ongoing legal cases. His imprisonment continues to stir political tensions in Pakistan, drawing attention to concerns about due process, party mobilization and public trust in state institutions.
