Pedestrian seriously injured in North Vancouver hit-and-run, RCMP seek public help

BY Connect Newsroom - Jasmine Singh, Feb 3, 2026 2:16 PM - REPORT AN ERROR

North Vancouver RCMP are asking the public to help identify a driver involved in a hit-and-run collision that left a pedestrian seriously injured.

Police say the incident occurred on January 31 at around 7:30 p.m. at the intersection of Highland Boulevard and Wavertree Road. A man and a woman were crossing the street in a marked crosswalk when they were struck by a white sedan.

Investigators allege the vehicle slowed briefly after the collision before leaving the scene. The female pedestrian suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital. The male pedestrian was not injured.

The suspect vehicle is described as a white sedan that may have damage to a headlight. RCMP are asking the driver to come forward voluntarily.

Police are also appealing to residents and motorists who may have dash camera or security video from the area at the time of the collision. Witnesses or anyone with information is asked to contact North Vancouver RCMP at 604-985-1311 and reference file number 26-2119.

Hit-and-run investigations rely heavily on public cooperation, and police say timely information can be critical in determining the circumstances surrounding a collision.
