Lake Country RCMP arrest two suspects in break and enter investigation linked to Kelowna

BY Connect Newsroom - Jasmine Singh, Jan 13, 2026 5:54 PM - REPORT AN ERROR

Lake Country RCMP say two men have been arrested following an early morning break and enter that investigators believe is connected to a series of similar crimes targeting businesses in Kelowna.

Police were called to a business in the 11,000 block of Oceola Road around 3:00 a.m. Sunday after receiving a report of a break and enter in progress. Officers contained the area and arrested two male suspects as they exited the building carrying tools commonly associated with break and enter offences.

RCMP say a search of the suspects uncovered identifiable property and Canadian currency believed to belong to the business, along with break-in tools. Evidence found at the scene has also been linked to other recent break and enters involving Kelowna businesses.

Investigators shared those findings with Kelowna RCMP, who now consider the two individuals to be primary suspects in the related incidents. Those investigations remain ongoing.

Lake Country RCMP Detachment Commander Staff Sgt. Jon Collins said the arrests highlight the importance of quick response and cooperation between detachments. He said officers acted swiftly to protect the community and prevent further property crime, adding that police remain committed to holding those responsible accountable.

Both suspects remain in custody while the investigation continues.
