Police are investigating after three people were sent to hospital following a two-vehicle collision in Surrey, B.C., early Sunday morning. Surrey Police Service says two occupants in of one of the vehicles sustained life-threatening injuries and a third, who was the lone occupant of the second vehicle, was seriously injured in the crash.

Investigators say officers responded to calls about the collision in the area of 128 Street and 65 Avenue shortly before 1 a.m. Police say one of the vehicles involved in the crash, which had flipped, was on fire and that firefighters removed two people trapped inside.

Police believe the vehicle with two occupants travelling north on 128 Street crossed into oncoming traffic hitting a southbound vehicle, saying speed is ``being considered as a contributing factor.''

Investigators are asking anyone with information to contact them.
