Ishaan Khatter’s Homebound to Premiere at 2025 Toronto International Film Festival

Homebound, featuring Ishaan Khatter, Janhvi Kapoor, and Vishal Jethwa in lead roles, has earned a spot at the esteemed Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) for its 2025 edition.

Announcing the news, producer Karan Johar posted on Instagram this Wednesday, writing: “#Homebound has officially been invited to the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival (@tiff_net) under the Gala Presentations lineup. Overjoyed and grateful to return to this renowned global stage—another proud moment for us at Dharma Productions.”

Previously, Homebound was met with a rousing reception at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, where it received a standing ovation lasting nine minutes.

The movie centers on two lifelong companions from a remote northern Indian village who set out to secure positions in law enforcement—roles they believe will finally grant them the respect and validation they've been deprived of. However, as their ambition intensifies, the strain begins to test the strength of their friendship.
