Indian Filmmakers Seek Help to Lift Ban on Hit Film "Dhurandhar"

The Indian Motion Picture Producers' Association (IMPPA), which represents filmmakers from across India, has reached out to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for help regarding the ban on the movie "Dhurandhar" in the Middle East. The film, directed by Aditya Dhar and featuring Ranveer Singh, has been blocked from release in countries like the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, and Saudi Arabia.
In their letter, IMPPA called the ban "unilateral and uncalled for," arguing that it limits the freedom of expression for the filmmakers. They noted that the film was approved by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) before its December release and has since become one of the biggest hits in Indian cinema.
"Dhurandhar," given an A rating by the CBFC, is now the highest-grossing Hindi film in India.
