One Battle After Another Wins Big at 31st Critics Choice Awards

On the film side, Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein and vampire drama Sinners were also major winners, earning four awards each.
The 31st Critics Choice Awards turned into a big night for One Battle After Another, a bold comedy on radical politics. The film won Best Picture, while Paul Thomas Anderson took home awards for Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay.
On the film side, Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein and vampire drama Sinners were also major winners, earning four awards each. Frankenstein won for production design, costumes, hair and makeup, and Best Supporting Actor for Jacob Elordi. Sinners picked up awards for original screenplay, casting and score, while 20-year-old Miles Caton won Best Young Performer.
In television, Adolescence ruled the limited series category with four wins, including Best Limited Series. The Pitt won Best Drama Series, and The Studio was named Best Comedy Series. Acting wins went to stars like Sarah Snook, Jean Smart, Seth Rogen, Rhea Seehorn and Timothée Chalamet, who won Best Actor for Marty Supreme.
The event, hosted by Chelsea Handler for the fourth year in a row, was held at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica. Talk show host Jimmy Kimmel also grabbed attention with his win and a sharp, crowd-pleasing speech on free expression.
